Welcome to Brakebills, your one way ticket to magic! The North American school for Magical Pedagogy, Brakebills has been an institution in the magical world for centuries. Though once before the school only allowed a select few 20 students per class into their programs, in recent years the school has allowed more and more students to join their schooling program as more and more magical blood has become apparent.
We've tried to make everything on this site run smoothly, so here's a handy dandy list to help you on your way!
i. all students must be in uniform, except for weekends and at night.
ii. curfew is at 11 pm sharp, and night walkers will not be tolerated
iii. all doors and entrances are charmed to set off an alarm when breached at night, so don't try it.
iv. (in night time threads) teachers are often found wandering the halls looking for those who aren't in bed.
v. battle magic is not taught nor is it allowed. other forbidden subjects such as necromancy and human mind control are also not allowed.
vi. the restricted section of the library is just that. restricted.
vii. student/teacher relationships are strictly forbidden.
viii. No drugs are allowed on campus.
ix. Alchemical substances such as truth serums are forbidden to use by students.
x. Larceny of school's materials (i.e. books, charms, equipment) will be punishable by expulsion from the school and memories wiped.
These positions are not final, or all that there is to teach. Positions may be created as necessary.
Brakebills South is the second campus of Brakebills. It is located in Antarctica and is run by a professor. Brakebills South is an extension of Brakebills that is used to test the minds and bodies of the students that go there. While they learn a harsher curriculum than in the original Brakebills, it's not required to pass all the tests at Brakebills South in order to pass - you just might end up a subpar magician instead.

[attr="class","tempadd"]disciplines
- Physical: Physical magic revolves around manipulating matter and inanimate traits of the world. Such examples of Physical Magic involve manipulating light, repairing objects, and levitating objects/oneself.
- Natural Magic: Natural Magic is the discipline concerning the manipulation and development of living things, especially plant life forms, through magical means.
- Illusions: Illusion is a discipline regarding the creation of powerful and very vivid images using magic. Illusionist, much like Psychics, deal with breaching the mind and it can be assumed that, with motive, they could use their illusions to manipulate others.
- Knowledge: Knowledge is a discipline whom's traits are little known. It is assumed that it deals with the accumulation of magical knowledge, or possibly the use of knowledge in some way to generate magic.
- Psychic: The discipline called Psychic is one regarding the breaching and manipulation of minds. Being able to read the minds of others and telepathically communicate and both common traits of psychics, as are other mental magicks.
- Healing: Healing magic is well...the magic of healing. Used in a variety of different ways it all stems down to one main point - magicians who are able to make people feel better. Their "clubhouse" is located in the infirmary.
